Persons with temps 100° or greater may not enter the school building

The wellness form to be completed daily comes from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The AOB threshold is 100.4, HOWEVER, Mother Seton School's threshold is 100. If your student has a temp of 100 or higher, please answer YES to that question and do not send them to school. Thank you!

Fairfield Area Students - Free Lunch

Fairfield Area School District has received a federal grant to provide lunches for all students who reside within Fairfield School District. This is regardless of what school the students attend and economic status. From Monday through Thursday, 11:30-1:00pm, parents may come to the Middle School entrance where cafeteria staff will be. The middle school entrance is on the other side of the building opposite of Fairfield Road. No need to sign anything or provide a name, just the number of lunches needed!

Cafeteria Update

Beginning October 1, students may now purchase a full lunch, entrée only, or entrée with drink. Please see the Cafeteria page for pricing.


Band Registration Opens This Week

Ms. Gries, the band instructor, will visit each grade 4-8 classroom, show an introductory video, and provide information on how to join the band. If your child is interested but finances are a hardship, please contact me.

Performance Series Assessments continue this week

The PSA replaces the IOWA basic standardized test. This fall, the test begins on Wed, Sep 23. Please visit the testing page for a list of which grades test on which date. As it's computer-based, you may opt to have the child complete the test from home. Please let your teacher know if this is your choice so they may give you the appropriate login information. *No new instruction will be given on test days. Students opting to remain home to test are only expected to complete the test. It is a series of 3 untimed tests (2 for Gr 1) which should take approximately 1 hour to complete. Breaks will be given in between testing.*

Please complete the AOB Income Survey!

The AOB will be using a google form survey to collect family income data for the 20-21 school year.
EACH FAMILY MUST COMPLETE THE SURVEY regardless of whether you believe you qualify for free or reduced fee lunch or not. Collecting family income data is also a requirement of MSDE and we must do so annually.
Visit to take the survey. The survey takes approximate 2-4 minutes and must be completed by October 15, 2020.


Registration is Due Now

All registration fees must be paid by May 15th! If paid after May 16th, the cost per child will increase.

Paid through May 15th: $175/child (maximum of $525/family)

Paid May 16th or later: $250/child (maximum of $750/family)


Friday, May 3rd, 8:30a.m. (Rain Date: Thu, May 9th)

Make plans to spend the day walking with our students in the younger grades or manning the water and safety stations along the 2-mile loop! Students will be walking in support of the Catoctin Pregnancy Center, our MSS friends with health issues, and the Daughters of Charity Mission in Nigeria. 


  • PE Uniform & comfortable walking shoes (does not have to be uniform sneakers). Hats are permitted!
  • Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen!
  • No Hot Lunch - please bring bagged
  • No Water Bottles - there will be water stations along the way
  • No solitary walkers - students will remain with class (PreK-Gr 2) or in groups of 3+

New Principal Meet & Greet

Join us for a brief reception to say hello to Ms. Kilty on Friday, May 10th, 8:00-9:00 a.m. Then stay for our May Procession and Crowning!

Raffle Incentive Reminders

Today was the date to turn in all  your tickets for the first raffle incentive. The next benchmark day is April 30th. Students earn a free ice cream on May 4th and are entered in a drawing for a Carnival ride wrist band.

Other incentives:

May 7th: Out of Uniform on May 10th; entered into drawing for Carnival wrist band

May 14th: Tag Day on May 17th - students may wear any shirt with uniform shorts/pants and uniform shoes

If we have 85% participation of ALL FAMILIES by May 14th students will earn a Crazy Hair Day on May 23rd.

100% participation by ALL FAMILIES by May 14th will earn students a Crazy Hair Day AND Out of Uniform on May 23rd!

Don you sweatbands and jerseys for a fun night out with your boys! Sports Themed Glow Bowling is happening in just under a month! $10/person includes shoe rental, slice of pizza, drink, and bowling for 2 hours. Download the flier and RSVP form to order your tickets!

**NOTE: The Box Tops people will NOT accept expired BTs! Please make sure your Box Tops are CURRENT. Also, please do not glue the BONUS certificates to the collection sheets. The sheets are ONLY for regular Box Tops. You can include bonus certificates, just don't glue them to the sheets.**

Each student is asked to collect 75 Box Tops using the collection sheets sent home in Tuesday folders. If we reach our goal, we’ll get a visit from The Cow Ice Cream Truck! Have additional Box Tops?

Any family who turns in additional filled sheets will be entered into a drawing for a prize!

Don’t forget to sign up with to track our school progress and participate in additional Box Top-earning activities. You can also download additional collection sheets!

All sheets MUST be returned by May 17th to qualify and be counted!

Welcome Home to Seton Center 50th Celebration & Reunion

All families are invited to help the Seton Center celebrate their anniversary on Sat, May 4th, 1:00-4:00 pm. Games and activities for kids and adults. Light refreshments. Raffles and an auction. Located on the grounds of Seton Center behind the school. Come on out and enjoy a good time! 

MSS Vincentian Marian Youth students will be holding a Bake Sale! Mrs. Myers will be facepainting!

MSS Carnival Meeting

Be a part of a three-decade tradition! We will be meeting to discuss the MSS Carnival on May 2 at 7:00p. Help us usher in the Carnival for the next generation and keep the spirit of community going! Contact Terry at 301.447.3161 with any questions.
