Reopening Letter from Ms. Kilty

Uniform Update and More

Students may choose to wear either the regular school uniform or the PE uniform every day. The PE uniform will continue to be required on PE days. The school shoe must be a white tennis shoe, with white or light non-marking soles. The shoe itself may have colored markings, such as logos. Our uniform closet has an ample supply of uniforms. Please contact the school office at (301) 447-3161, Monday – Thursday, to set up a time to visit the closet. If you need additional PE T-shirts, they must be ordered through the front office no later than August 3. A form was mailed home with report cards or you may download it from the website.

A Note from the Principal’s Desk…

Many thanks to all who contributed to the success of our Christmas Program and band concert. Special thanks go to Mrs. Carney, who planned the Program so creatively, the classroom teachers and aides who assisted her, members of the tech crew and chorus, and the students who performed so beautifully. Special thanks also go to our band director Ms. Weaver. Our beginning band presented its first concert for us and the advanced band wonderfully demonstrated their hard work and practice. Unfortunately, there will be no evening performance.

Classes will end at noon on Friday, December 20 for Christmas Vacation. Classes will resume on Friday, January 3, 2020. I send wishes to everyone for a blessed and joyful, merry Christmas.  And may the New Year be a good one for us as we work together to strengthen our school community.

Kathleen J. Kilty, PhD

Did you know bees are the world’s top pollinator of crops?

Bring the family for a fun and free evening all about bees! This year art and science have been working in tandem, as the students incorporate the wonderful world of bees into their creative works.

Hear from beekeepers, meet The Bee Rescuer, see hives and beekeeping tools in person, including “the bee suit”. Stay and enjoy popcorn and a film about bees in their environment. Wear comfy clothes, bring a soft blanket, and a drink with a lid!
