A Message From The Principal

Dear Families,

I hope you are all doing well. Only one week to go before our Christmas break!

First trimester report cards will go home with students today. Please review the report card with your child. If you did not sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher, please get in touch with the teacher to set up a time to meet.

Please continue to monitor your child’s health and keep them at home if they are not feeling well or have any COVID symptoms. We are very close to Christmas, and we want to avoid being quarantined for Christmas.

This past Sunday, we celebrated Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday of Advent. On this day, we “shift our reflection from the Lord is coming to the Lord is near.” (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, 2020). Below is a prayer taken from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis that I thought you might like to say with your family this week as you prepare for Jesus’ birth:

Dear God, you know that our hearts long for the joy and gladness promised by life with you. Help us to remember that you are with us always, and that our hearts will rest only when they rest with you.

Holy Spirit, guide the choices we make throughout this week. Help us endure hardship. Remind us to be patient. Stifle our tendency to complain. Help us realize how much we owe the creator for all we have and all we are.

Father in heaven, we offer thanks to you for sending John the Baptist to prepare the way for the coming of the savior. Help us to heed the Baptist’s message to repent and to renew our commitment to live in holiness.

Come Lord Jesus. So often we are impatient for your coming, yet we are fearful of living our lives as one with you. Come and ease our anxiety. Come and reward our patience. Come and remove our sorrow. Our communities and our world eagerly await the day of your birth.

Have a blessed week!

As part of our Green School initiative, middle school science classes are collecting used mascara wands for wildlife!

The wands are shared with wildlife caregivers to use in providing care and treatment to wild animals. They use the wands in many ways including direct care of the animals and help with cleaning items like syringes.

Before you throw your mascara away, please clean off the wand and send it in to Mrs. Kuykendall (Mrs. K). One simple step to help wildlife and be a good steward of the earth!
