Today, our National Junior Honor Society Members - Sophia, Grace, Anya, Ben, Finn, Caleb, Maryn, and Thien-Y - packed up the toys and games donated during their NJHS service project, Toys for Tommy Drive. Thank YOU for your donations! A lot of children at Johns Hopkins are going to smile because of you. What a way to honor our beloved alum, Tommy Laudani (MSS2014)!

A Message From The Principal

Dear Families,

I hope this note finds your family healthy and well.

If you have yet to do so, please sign-up for a conference with your child’s teacher no later than 3:00 p.m. on December 14.

Report cards will go home with students on Wednesday, December 15.

Tomorrow, December 8, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary with an all-school Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Parents are welcome to attend this Mass.

Several days ago, a friend sent me a book containing messages of gratitude for the Advent and Christmas seasons. The message for December 9 spoke to me, and I share it with you here:

“Paul tells us clearly of God’s will for us. In every single circumstance we are to rejoice, pray, and give thanks to God. God wants us to rejoice, pray, and give thanks because he knows that will give us a better life. If in every circumstance we rejoice, pray, and give thanks to God, we will live a life of value and purpose.

In all circumstances means that, even in our trials and tribulations and struggles, we are to thank God. We don’t thank God for the circumstances. We thank God that he is at work in our circumstances.”

Have a blessed week!

There will be no After School Care on December 10 or December 16.

The next HSA Meeting is Tuesday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Reminder: Christmas Break begins December 22. Students return January 3, 2022. December 21 is a full day of school!

Please Slow Down

The local deputies would like us to remind our families to SLOW DOWN when driving Creamery Road. They are graciously giving us a chance to warn everyone before they begin ticketing. The speed limit is 25, except for at the curve approaching the school from US15 at which it changes to 15.

A Visit with Santa Claus

VFW Post 6658 is hosting a visit with Santa on December 18, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Snack and light fare will be provided.

As part of our Green School initiative, middle school science classes are collecting used mascara wands for wildlife!

The wands are shared with wildlife caregivers to use in providing care and treatment to wild animals. They use the wands in many ways including direct care of the animals and help with cleaning items like syringes.

Before you throw your mascara away, please clean off the wand and send it in to Mrs. Kuykendall (Mrs. K). One simple step to help wildlife and be a good steward of the earth!
