Tuesday News 11/08/22

As we celebrated All Saints' Day this month, our students in all grades have been learning about the lives of the Saints and how we are all called to be saints ourselves. See what a few of our first-grade students are doing to be more like the Saints!

There will no longer be a print version of the Tuesday News. It will be available on the website each Tuesday evening and you will receive an email notification once it is published. The provider we use will not allow us to manually enter emails that have previously been unsubscribed, so if you have previously unsubscribed from any of our mailings, you will need to re-enter your email address. A Message From the Principal

Dear Families,

In honor of deceased friends and family in our community, a memorial display will be set up in the atrium. If you have yet to do so, please visit our online form to add the name or names of your loved ones who have died this past year to this display and our Book of Prayers.

The cafeteria will offer a Thanksgiving-style lunch on Tuesday, November 15. Please ensure your child notifies their teacher of their order on Monday so that Mrs. Reaver has an accurate count.

The final day of the first trimester is November 23. Please work with your child to ensure all assignments are submitted. Please get in touch with your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

The HSA will meet this evening in the library at 6:30 to discuss upcoming events. I hope to see you there!

And lastly, I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to those who have served and are currently serving our country. Please join me in praying for our servicemembers as we approach Veterans Day:

Almighty God and Father, look with love upon our men and women in uniform and protect them in their time of need. Give them health and stability and allow them to return to their loved ones whole and unshaken. Be with their families and sustain them in these uncertain times.

Grant strength and peace of mind to the Veterans who have given their best for the country they love. Support them in infirmity and in the fragility of old age. Teach us to remember their sacrifices and to express our gratitude.

Manifest your tender care to those in the Military Academies who prepare for future service and to those who serve our Nation far from home. Teach us to remember the sacrifices of those whose efforts contribute to ensuring our way of life.

Bless and multiply the priests who minister to the faithful of the Archdiocese for the Military Services. Reward their generosity and keep them faithful.

Hear us as we present our prayers to You through Christ our Lord.

– Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA

Have a Blessed Week!

Sincerely,

Kathleen J. Kilty, PhD
Principal

We are collecting new and unwrapped toys & books for the Johns Hopkins Snowflake Station, a place where parents can "shop" for free gifts for their children under pediatric care. This is in memory of Tommy Laudani, MSS'14, who passed away in 2018 from a rare cancer. A bin is located in the atrium to collect the toys and books. Thank you for your support!
