Congratulations to our second-grade First Communicants! They will be having their Family Mass at the Basilica on Thursday, May 16th at 7:00pm.
If you requested to receive a version of Tuesday News via email and you have not been receiving it, please visit the link below and sign up via the online form. The provider we use will not allow us to manually enter emails that have previously been unsubscribed. Also, be sure to add advancement@mothersetonschool to your email client’s contact list so the newsletter isn’t caught in a Spam filter.
The Monthly Edition will only be sent via email. No print version will be sent home.
Persons with temps 100° or greater may not enter the school building
The wellness form to be completed daily comes from the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The AOB threshold is 100.4, HOWEVER, Mother Seton School's threshold is 100. If your student has a temp of 100 or higher, please answer YES to that question and do not send them to school. Thank you!
Fairfield Area Students - Free Lunch
Fairfield Area School District has received a federal grant to provide lunches for all students who reside within Fairfield School District. This is regardless of what school the students attend and economic status. From Monday through Thursday, 11:30-1:00pm, parents may come to the Middle School entrance where cafeteria staff will be. The middle school entrance is on the other side of the building opposite of Fairfield Road. No need to sign anything or provide a name, just the number of lunches needed!
Band Registration Opens This Week
Ms. Gries, the band instructor, will visit each grade 4-8 classroom, show an introductory video, and provide information on how to join the band. If your child is interested but finances are a hardship, please contact me.
The PSA replaces the IOWA basic standardized test. This fall, the test begins on Wed, Sep 23. Please visit the testing page for a list of which grades test on which date. As it's computer-based, you may opt to have the child complete the test from home. Please let your teacher know if this is your choice so they may give you the appropriate login information. *No new instruction will be given on test days. Students opting to remain home to test are only expected to complete the test. It is a series of 3 untimed tests (2 for Gr 1) which should take approximately 1 hour to complete. Breaks will be given in between testing.*
The AOB will be using a google form survey to collect family income data for the 20-21 school year.
EACH FAMILY MUST COMPLETE THE SURVEY regardless of whether you believe you qualify for free or reduced fee lunch or not. Collecting family income data is also a requirement of MSDE and we must do so annually.
Visit bit.ly/IncSurvey2021 to take the survey. The survey takes approximate 2-4 minutes and must be completed by October 15, 2020.
Registration is Due by May 15th!
Last Chance to Pay Registration Fee before Rate increase! If paid after May 16th, the cost per child will increase.
Paid through May 15th: $175/child (maximum of $525/family)
Paid May 16th or later: $250/child (maximum of $750/family)
GRADE 8: All Tuition and Fees must be paid in full by May 15th in order for students to take part in 8th-grade activities. Please see Finance if you have any questions or concerns.

We need volunteers to help us set up for the carnival Sat & Sun, May 18-19th. On Saturday we begin at 9:00am and on Sunday we begin at 11:00am. There is a lot of work involved!
Can’t help with set up? That’s okay! We have other ways you can be a part of the tradition. Sign up to staff one of the MSS stations - we always need the extra hands!
Also, please review the items needed list and send in what you can.

Before School Care Feedback Needed
In response to feedback collected on the recent parent survey, we would like to know more details about your potential use of Before School Care services. Please take a moment to fill out and return the attached survey OR visit bit.ly/BeforeCareSurvey19 to submit your reply electronically. This does not constitute a commitment on your part - we are simply gathering more information as we move forward to determine if this is a viable option we can once again offer. Thank you!
