HELPING OUR COMMUNITY
8TH Grade Volunteer – Service hours (Year-Round) 8th graders coordinate with HSA to work confirmed events and earn your service hours for the school year!
Catholic School week (Jan) – Help plan events such as decorations and a luncheon for Catholic School’s week the last week in January.
Teacher Appreciation week (April-May) – Help plan events such as door decorations, snacks and treats, and gifts for Teacher Appreciation week.
Welcome Committee (Spring; Fall) – Existing MSS families work with MSS and new incoming families to transition new families to MSS and help with any questions they may have.
Event Photographer - Take photos at various events and forward to the Advancement Office for publication. Experience not necessary, but a DSLR or phone with a good-quality camera is required.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Bingo (Fall & Spring) – Coordinate a fun-filled themed bingo event on a Friday or Saturday night at Mother Seton School, helping at the price and concession tables as well as calling bingo numbers, and helping with the kitchen.
Boys Night Out (April) – Help plan this annual bowling night with a Mother Seton parent and their son(s).
Breakfast with Santa (Dec) – Join the committee to help plan this holiday extravaganza that includes Santa and Mrs. Claus, pancakes & o.j., holiday vendors and more. We need assistance with the kitchen, supervising, ticket taking, and more!
Fall Fest (Oct) – Our annual Halloween tradition of games, trunk or treating, and Halloween costumes, wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers. Join the committee and help this fun-filled family night out!
Family Fun night (May) – Coordinate a fun-filled night that includes bounce houses, games, face paint and more.
Girls Night Out (Feb) – Help organize and set up this wonderful night of dancing and laughter. A night for a Mother Seton parent to take their daughter(s) out for a dancing, games, and more.
Grandparents Day (Sept) – Coordinate and setup a morning of breakfast and fun for our MSS grandparents! Our MSS kids will get to show off all they are learning while enjoying time with their grandparents.
FUNDRAISING
Christmas raffle (Dec event, year round planning) – Coordinate and donate items for our annual raffle. Volunteers request donations in the early fall and help plan the event as it gets closer to November when tickets go out.
Gala and auction (year round planning, event in early spring) – Love party planning? Join the Gala committee! Volunteers start planning this fun filled night, requesting donations, and coordinating the event. This is MSS’s biggest fundraiser and biggest adult social held each year.
Flower Sale (Fall; Spring) – Volunteer and help distribute flowers each fall and spring.
Roy Rogers (Fall; Spring) – Help organize the semi-annual lunch/dinner sale at Roy Rogers in Thurmont.
Spaghetti Dinner (Oct) – Help coordinate and volunteer with our annual Spaghetti Dinner. This year’s event is being held at MSS. Make homemade sauce, meatballs, and setup and distribute the day of.
The Mount Usher program (Nov-March) – Love basketball?! Want to help MSS raise money. Volunteer a couple hours at any of the men’s and women’s games, standing by and assisting people with questions on their seats, all while enjoying the game! Volunteers can bring their kids and a supervising adult to any game for free that they help at. PLUS for every game you volunteer, you’ll earn a homework pass or out of uniform pass to use by the end of the school year.
