Summer Reading Challenge

Are you up for our 1,000 Pages of Summer Reading Challenge? Read 1,000 pages this summer and receive a certificate and an out-of-uniform pass! Use the below sheet to keep track of what books you read and how many pages.

Sheets must be returned by Friday, September 4, 2026! Sheets returned after this date and/or without a student name, parent signature, and list of books with page counts will not be accepted.

Middle School Summer Reading Assignments

The purpose of summer reading requirements is to support the continued development of vocabulary and reading strategies throughout the summer. (And - most importantly - to enjoy a couple of good books!)

Guidelines

  • Summer reading is a required assignment.
  • Students must read 2 books from their grade-level lists.
  • Students should complete a writing activity for one book and a creative activity for the second book.
  • The signed form documenting completion of summer reading can be turned in to the Literature teacher on the first day back to school.

5th Grade Summer Reading Assignment

Overview

  • Students must complete the Cereal Box assignment for their chosen book
  • The signed form documenting completion of summer reading should be turned in to the teacher on the first day of school, as well as the Cereal Box assignment
