From the Principal's Desk

Dear Families,

Congratulations to our Pre-K 4 students who graduated today! I am proud of their tremendous growth this year and am excited to welcome them to Kindergarten.

The last day of school is tomorrow, June 10. We will have an 11:00 am dismissal, and there will be no After School Care. Please ask your children to check the Lost and Found cart in the Cafeteria. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.

I wish everyone a peaceful and relaxing summer break. Below is a prayer that I thought you would like to say with your family:

A Summer Prayer

 Father, Creator of all,
thank you for summer!
Thank you for the warmth of the sun
and the increased daylight.
Thank you for the beauty I see all around me
and for the opportunity to be outside
and enjoy your creation.
Thank you for the increased time I have
to be with my friends and family,
and for the more casual pace
of the summer season.
Draw me closer to you this summer.
Teach me how I can pray
no matter where I am
or what I am doing.
Warm my soul
with the awareness of your presence
and light my path
with your Word and Counsel.
As I enjoy your creation,
create in me a pure heart
and a hunger and a thirst for you.

As we enter the final days of the 2025-2026 school year, I want to provide you with a 2026-2027 staffing update.

Six Mother Seton School faculty and staff members will not return for the 2026-2027 school year:

• After three years as a middle school teacher, Jacob Brown will not return to Mother Seton School. Mr. Brown is excited to be more involved in his church and youth ministry and will be traveling to Haiti as a missionary.
• Middle School Spanish teacher, Fatima Knight, will not be returning to Mother Seton School. Mrs. Knight, who has taught Spanish here for the past two years, will be working for her family business. She has offered to serve as a substitute teacher, so we will still see her at MSS!
• After 16 years at Mother Seton School—eight as an After School Care assistant and eight as a teacher for grades 3 and 4—Sarah Harrington will not be returning. Ms. Harrington accepted a teaching position in Apopka, Florida. We will miss Ms. Harrington and look forward to her visits when she returns to the area.
• After serving as our School Counselor for the past six years, Sister Maggie Scally, DC, has received a new mission. We thank her for her guidance and service over the years and look forward to her future visits.
• After nearly 30 years as a school parent, volunteer, cafeteria assistant, and bus driver, Colleen Myers is retiring. We are thankful to Ms. Colleen for being a safe and dependable driver and a strong supporter of MSS. In between visiting her grandchildren and visiting family, Ms. Colleen will serve as a substitute driver.
• Second-grade teacher assistant, Sheila Dorsey, will not return to Mother Seton School. A classroom teacher and teacher assistant for over 20 years, Mrs. Dorsey and her husband will be moving back to their hometown of Philadelphia, PA. In their retirement, they will have plenty of time to cheer on their beloved Philadelphia sports teams.

We will miss Mr. Brown, Mrs. Knight, Ms. Harrington, Sister Maggie, Ms. Colleen, and Mrs. Dorsey! Please join me in wishing them well and praying for their health and safety as they move on to their next adventure.

Though we are saying goodbye to some of our MSS family, we will be welcoming new members to our school community. Later this summer, I will write to you to announce new hires and other exciting plans for the 2026-2027 school year.
