Dear Families,
Progress Reports will go home with students today. Please discuss the report with your child. If you have yet to do so, please sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher(s). The opportunity to sign up will close on December 4 at 3:00pm.
On Sunday, December 1, we celebrated the first day of Advent and the first day of a new Liturgical Year. Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation. It is about reflecting on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in the world as it is today. As the season’s true meaning often gets lost amid the bright lights and jingle bells, Advent reminds us of the holiness of the season. We are encouraged to enter more frequently into silence, prayer, and scripture, all to prepare for celebrating Christmas.
Please note that Friday is a noon dismissal. Aftercare will not be available.
On Friday, we will celebrate the Feast of St. Nicholas. Below is a prayer that I thought you would like to recite with your family.
Prayer to St. Nicholas
God, our Father
we pray that through the intercession of St. Nicholas you will protect our children.
Keep them safe from harm and help them grow and become worthy in your sight.
Give them strength to keep their faith in you;
and to keep alive their joy in your creation.
Through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Amen
I hope to see you at our Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday. Thank you to Vanessa Chism and Barbara Lowman for planning the event and for all of the volunteers who have and will donate their time. It looks like it will be a great time.
Have a blessed week!
Sincerely,
Kathleen J. Kilty, PhD
