From the Principal's Desk
Dear Families,
I hope this note finds your family healthy and rested after the Thanksgiving break!
We will have an all-school Mass on Friday, December 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, at 9:30 AM. December 8 is a Holy Day of Obligation. All families are invited to attend this Mass. All students should come in uniform; out-of-uniform day will be celebrated the day prior, December 7.
Parent/Teacher conferences will occur on Tuesday, December 19, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM online and on Wednesday, December 20 from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM in person. Please sign up for your conference slot no later than noon on December 15. If you choose the online option, your child’s teacher will contact you after the 15th with the appropriate links.
We will celebrate the first day of Advent and the first day of a new Liturgical Year on Sunday. Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation. It is about reflecting on how we can prepare our hearts and homes for Christ’s birth in the world as it is today. As the season’s true meaning often gets lost amid the bright lights and jingle bells, Advent reminds us of the holiness of the season. We are encouraged to enter more frequently into silence, prayer, and scripture, all to prepare for celebrating Christmas.
I want to share the following Advent prayer with you:
Lord Jesus,
Master of both the light and the darkness,
send your Holy Spirit upon our preparations for Christmas.
We who have so much to do seek quiet spaces to
hear your voice each day.
We who are anxious over many things look
forward to your coming among us.
We who are blessed in so many ways long for
the complete joy of your kingdom.
We whose hearts are heavy seek the joy of your presence.
We are your people, walking in darkness, yet seeking the light.
To you we say, “Come, Lord Jesus!”
Amen

Please note that Friday is a noon dismissal. Aftercare will be available.
I hope to see you at our Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday. It looks like it will be a great time.
