Student Leadership
THE PURPOSE OF THE MOTHER SETON SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL IS TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE GOOD CITIZENSHIP, SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, GROWTH IN LEADERSHIP ABILITY AND SCHOOL SPIRIT, AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTE TO THE GENERAL WELFARE OF THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY.

Student Council members participate and represent MSS in several leadership activities:

  • Speaking at in-school and out-of-school events
  • Providing VIP tours
  • Conducting monthly Student Council meetings to plan student activities
  • Sponsoring and coordinating community outreach opportunities
  • Collaborating with MSS administration to facilitate schoolwide spirit activities

2017-18 Activities

  • Served as Student Ambassadors for events such as Grandparents Day and Read Across America Day
  • Represented MSS at the Angels Above Alumni Golf Tournament
  • Attended Leadership Challenge Course at Capital Camps
  • Organized a Pink-Out Day to raise funds for the American Cancer Society
  • Organized Catholic Schools Week spirit activities
  • Organized Green School activities such as the Trash Free Snack Day
  • Visited local businesses and organizations to build community relationships

Middle school students serve as elected officers of Student Council. Officer positions include:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

Students in grades 3–5 elect a Class Representative to represent their class on Student Council.
