January 25-30, 2026 - Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community
(Rescheduled February 2-6 due to snow!)
Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week has been the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, and includes activities and events for all members of the school community.
All week long:
Gratitude Project: Each classroom will create a poster of what they're grateful for at Mother Seton School. Families are also invited to share their gratitude for MSS by posting a note on our virtual wall. POST A NOTE
Little Boxes of Blessings: The National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring a collection of personal items and cleaning supplies for women staying at Faith House transitional housing at the Frederick Rescue Mission. The collection runs from January 20-Feb 13. Students will create shoeboxes containing special personal items for the women. Download the flyer for a list of needed items! FLYER
Jan 25: Celebrating Our Parishes/Spaghetti Dinner - Several parishes will be hosting Catholic Schools Week Masses and inviting Catholic school students to participate. Check with your parish to see what activities they may have planned. Whatever faith community you are a part of, have your children wear their MSS uniforms to church today to show their "Seton Spirit"!
After church, join us for the annual HSA Spaghetti Dinner! Enjoy an Italian feast including desserts and drinks. Enter the raffle for an Italian-themed gift basket! Dine in or carry out - serving 11-4 pm in the cafeteria. Tickets: $40 (family up to 8 immediate members); $12 (14+); $8 (3-13); Free (2 and under). BUY TICKETS HERE | VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Feb 3: Celebrating Our Students - Out-of-Uniform Day! Students will enjoy Prayer Partner Bingo with their Prayer Partners and receive a special gift.
Feb 4: Celebrating Our Families - We are grateful for our families choosing MSS! Students will receive no homework and will bring home a special thank you for their parents/guardians.
