Alerts

Mother Seton School uses Finalsite's XR system to send out alerts via email, SMS, voice call, and app notification. We also post a pop-up on the website and post on social media.

As a reminder, we follow FCPS inclement weather calls. If Frederick County schools are delayed or closed, so are we. If FCPS is not in session or if we feel conditions are worse in our area, we may need to make the call ourselves, but that is generally a rare occurence.

What if I didn't receive an alert?

If you are not receiving alerts or if you need to change or add a valid account to receive alerts, please complete the form below.

For voice calls, major carriers often use algorithms to flag automated calls as spam, which can cause them to be blocked before they even reach the recipient’s handset. Additionally, features like "Silence Unknown Callers" on iOS or "Call Screen" on Android can prevent these calls from ringing.

For text messages, similar carrier-level filtering can occur, especially with toll-free numbers, or the recipient may have accidentally blocked the sender's number.

To help resolve this, please advise the affected recipients to take the following steps:

  1.  Add the school's outbound caller ID number to their phone’s Contacts list: 833-969-4285
  2. Check their device settings to ensure the sender's number has not been blocked
  3. Review any carrier-specific spam filtering apps (such as Verizon Call Filter or AT&T ActiveArmor) to see if the messages or calls are being intercepted there
  4. T-Mobile customers: follow the instructions below

T-Mobile customers should ensure the T-Mobile Scam Shield isn't suppressing our messages:

  • T-Mobile's Scam Shield can block legitimate calls because its anti-scam technology may sometimes misidentify desired callers. To address this, T-Mobile advises disabling the app's "Scam Block" feature temporarily or using the Category Manager in the T-Life or Scam Shield app to customize which call types are blocked.
  • T-Mobile has a Scam Shield feature buried in their T-Life app under the Manage account section, where there will be a log of blocked calls. If this applies to a T-Mobile subscriber, they should be able to click on the call and allow the number.
  • Here is a link that may be helpful to parents who have T-Mobile and are not getting our calls. Help with scams & spam | T-Mobile Support
  • T-Mobile Subscribers – Impacted recipients can complete this form: https://callreporting.t-mobile.com/. T-Mobile requires impacted subscribers themselves to submit the call reporting form to have their school’s number marked as valid.
