The Class of 1957—
Mother
Seton
School
’s
first graduating class—shared memories, laughs, lunch and a school
tour at their recent reunion.
They were especially happy that Sister
Natalie McCubbin, their 5th Grade teacher, returned to share in the
celebration.
For some, it was the first time at the
school’s “new” location.
In the winter of 1957 when these
students attended Mother Seton, the school was located on
South Seton Avenue
– where the
Emmitsburg
Learning
Center
is
now housed.
The school is planning a Bicentennial of when
Elizabeth Ann Seton came to
St. Joseph
’s Valley.
Tracing its origins to the first
school
of
Mother Seton
– St. Joseph’s Academy & Free School near Emmitsburg, the school is
asking anyone who can share memorabilia, past or contact information
about the extended Mother Seton School family (those who attended
St. Joseph High, St. Euphemia School,
St.
Joseph
School
,
St. Joseph
College
,
St.
Anthony School or Mother Seton School) to contact the school at
301.447.3165, or mail to Ms. Ann Warthen at Mother Seton School: 100
Creamery Road, Emmitsburg, MD.
