Each student receives a "Tuesday Folder" at the start of the school year for carrying home weekly school communications including: Tuesday Newsletters, community bulletins, classroom and school wide special events, monthly Calendar and Cafeteria Menu. In addition, teachers may send notes home during the week for particular reasons. Parents read and respond to communications within expected deadlines, requesting clarification if necessary.
At the beginning of each school year parents may opt out of receiving hard copies of the Newsletter via the Tuesday Folder and opt in to receiving a weekly email notice advising when the Newsletter is available on line. School news, electronic versions of Tuesday Newsletter and event bulletins can also be found on the school website on the News & Announcements page.
Parents are encouraged to keep in touch with their children’s teachers in order to be informed of progress and areas of difficulty. Effective means of promoting school success includes: checking homework, reviewing for a test, inquiring about projects, test results, school activities, attending parent meetings and conferences. Parents who are concerned about their children’s progress are strongly encouraged to contact the homeroom teacher to discuss the concern and work out a strategy for improvement.
Appointments with teachers or the principal are requested in writing or by leaving a message at the school office and allowing a day or two for a response. Please suggest available dates and times to meet. Should a request remain unanswered after allowing sufficient time, parents are requested to call the office with a reminder.
Seton Soundings is currently published quarterly through the Advancement Office to update you about our Mother Seton community. We encourage students, families, and alumni to send us information and pictures about recent accomplishments or awards that we can use in our publications and/or web page.
