Advancement Office News

We’ve changed the name from Development to Advancement, emphasizing our goal to ADVANCE the mission of Mother Seton School!

Congratulations to Mrs. Jennifer Buchheister for accepting the position of Director of Advancement. Jennifer has been with MSS for 4 years working in the Advancement Office, has 3 children attending MSS, and is an alumna from the Class of 1983.

She is joined by Kimberly Hartness, Database Management, and Lynn Taylor, Marketing/Public Relations. The team will focus their efforts on ADVANCING the mission by seeking to expand our friends who support the mission through philanthropic and charitable gifts, and marketing and communications.

We have strengthened our Enrollment Management efforts by inviting Denice Vaught to join Jen and Lena Laug on the team. They are working closely with the faculty and will be making personal contacts with many parents as we launch our new enrollment campaign for the 2013-14 year.

Box Tops for Education
Did you know some schools earn over $50,000 a year through the Box Tops for Education program? Box Tops are (usually) pink labels worth 10 cents each that appear on General Mills products. They just need to be cut out completely and brought to school to be redeemed for cash. From January-May 2012, MSS will sponsor a CONTEST to help increase Box Tops collections. You can cut out Box Tops or earn Box Tops by shopping on line through participating merchants like Walmart or Lands End and 170+ others at: http://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/marketplace

Parish Liaisons Needed
The Advancement Office is organizing volunteers to serve as Liaisons between their parish or church and MSS. They work with the Advancement Office to keep news about MSS in the bulletins and flyers, etc. posted in their parishes. If you did not sign up on the volunteer form and wish to assist, call Jennifer Buchheister at 301-447-3165. Click here for more information.

Special Scholarship Fund Appeal
Many MSS families struggle financially and are faced with the dilemma of wanting to provide their children a Catholic education and their inability to make the financial commitment to do so. Please help our children continue to receive the Catholic education they so desire and need by sponsoring a student. No amount is too small. Remember the multiplication of loaves- Jesus can multiply a very small amount and it will take care of all of our children. more>>
