The Annual Giving Fund is critically necessary for MSS to offer significant financial aid, improve facilities, meet annual expenses and most importantly, to implement new educational programs like the Mother Seton Learning Center (MSLC).

Each year, MSS relies on the Annual Giving Fund, and friends like you, to make dreams like these come true. 

Please share your blessings and respond to the love that God has shown you, by making a sacrificial gift to continue the work of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg.  MSS is her living legacy.  We were the first founded of 5,774 Catholic elementary schools operating in the country today.  It all began here.  Giving to the MSS Annual Fund is your opportunity to continue to give this generation what was given to the ones before—a love of God, a strong moral compass, academic excellence, and a commitment to service.

Many employers match employee donations.  Please ask at work.  You can also give in your United Way campaign by writing in the school name, address (100 Creamery Road, Emmitsburg, MD 21727) and phone (301) 447-3161 on your pledge card at work.  If you can’t locate the write-in space for designated gifts, ask your campaign coordinator for help.  To create a legacy impact, please consider planned giving options—bequests, memorials, charitable annuities, or gifts of life insurance, real estate, business interests, appreciated securities, etc.  For more info, contact the Advancement Director at (301) 447-3165 or advancement@mothersetonschool.org.

Annual Giving FAQs

Why should I support the Annual Giving Fund at Mother Seton School?
Annual Giving is a personal decision and an important way to demonstrate a continued investment in the work of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Daughters of Charity.  The Daughters keep tuition artificially low at MSS, so that more families can afford to send their children here, and it covers only 80% of the yearly expenses of the school.  To put this in perspective - Frederick County Public Schools spends more than $12,150 per student each year.  Tuition at MSS is just $4,595!  The Annual Giving Campaign is Mother Seton School’s primary fundraising tool.  We are blessed to have the Home School Association (H.S.A.) raising funds through events and raffles for one-time purchases, classroom supplies, and special activities.  Area churches, the Friends of Catholic Education, and others also assist MSS by providing qualified, individual children with scholarships and parish assistance.  Ultimately, however, MSS relies on the Annual Fund, and friends like you, to operate.

How much should I give?
You determine the size of your tax-deductible gift according to your own charitable interests, your personal willingness to give, and your financial capacity.  No gift is too small.  Many have chosen sacrificial gifts in honor of St. Elizabeth Ann and her legacy of Catholic education in Emmitsburg.

How can I give?
To give securely on-line, please use the Annual Giving Form visible at the top of this page.   Gifts may also be made in person at the school or mailed to the Advancement Office at 100 Creamery Road, Emmitsburg, MD 21727. Cash is accepted, but not advised to be sent through the mail. Your gift to Mother Seton School can be made by:
